FOBISSEA and Jordy's 11th Bday

Firstly, my two wonderful sporting boys, yes that does mean Jordy made the FOBISSEA team to represent their year and school in sports in Phuket.  We figured Liam would get in, but Jordy we did not.  But all credit to him, he trialled and made the team. So proud, but so poor now.  The cost is $1500 per student, and obviously Amanda feels the need to go with them at yet another cost to us.  They have training before school and after school on Monday, after school on Tuesday, two trainings after school on Wednesday and swimming before school on Fridays, so full on for them and Amanda who is doing all the pick ups, drop offs and helping coach (I say helping lightly, interferring)  as I am full on into my study.  Two very tired children at the end of the week.

This is an opportunity they would not get elsewhere,  there are teams competing from Vietnam, Thailand, Seoul, Penang, Manila (and Brunei).  The boys are staying at a hotel with all the other schools, (not with Amanda) so mixing with all the other children.   We are hoping this is an experience of a lifetime for them.  I get five days of freedom, however I currently live in a dry country with no nightlife, so lots of time to study!!!

On Tuesday Jordy turned 11years old.  Due to training requirements during the week we decided to hold a small beach party on the Saturday before.  He invited two friends from school (one couldnt come due to family committments) and our neighbours who he and Liam play with every night.  Two boys from India (also attend ISB) and a local Chinese/Bruneian boy who has never been to the beach before because he doesn't like the sun (ironic living in a tropical country)   A good afternoon had by all.  We have learnt never to leave Amanda in charge of a treasure hunt as she failed to realise she had left footprints in the wet sand, which the boys followed direct to the treasure.
